Glasgow's successful bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games
Inspiring a nation
We were to create an iconic brand identity to support Scotland's bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
Our idea included the three key elements of the campaign to ensure that the logo captured the spirit of the bid - people to reflect the 'friendly games', 'XX' to signify the 20th Commonwealth Games, and reference to host city Glasgow in the Charles Rennie Mackintosh styled typography.
Going the extra mile
We then created a modern tartan to be used as a backdrop for a variety of sporting images and messages. This provided a high impact and highly recognisable framework for all future communications.
To the finish line
Our identity helped generate over 1 million pledges of support for the bid.
And in the final vote Scotland won by 47 votes to the Nigerian capital Abuja's 24, leaving the nation to celebrate a great victory.
