We recently shot a series of commercials for the Royal Bank of Scotland featuring Sir Jackie Stewart who is an RBS Global Brand Ambassador. Sir Jackie was demonstrating a series of F1 facts (did you know the roll bar in an F1 car can withstand an impact equivalent to the weight of two fully grown elephants?) in a very complicated shoot involving green screens, matched footage and an awful lot of scenes to get through in a day. Sir Jackie turned out to be a model professional -enthusiastic, skilled and with seemingly inexhaustable energy.

Sally’s Leaving Do

June 16th, 2008 by Lisa

We’re all sad to see Sally leave, she was like the fifth SATC gal with her cool, sassy, classy style. I personally will miss all her fab outfits.

The night started at the Borough for cocktails then off to Negociants for generous helpings off chilli beef nacho’s which were super scrummy. Hot Lips Hannah showed us how to party by lighting shots of sambuca while it was in his mouth and we all followed suit………NOT!!! Woke up the next morning with a slightly sore head which is always the sign of a good night.

A fun time was had by all at the Musselburgh races, our girl ‘Tally-ho’ got us extra special BBQ tickets so we ate, drank, bet and boogied, Chelle won a t-shirt at the Forth One disco YAY! Then a few of us hardcore party goers went back to Kelly’s for some strawberry shots and no it wasn’t me who stood in the horse doo da coming out of the races.

Here’s a pic of some of the lucky winners woopeeeeeeee!

Skydiving with Honda

June 2nd, 2008 by Simon

I must say that last week’s live 3 minute ad from Honda on Channel 4 was genius.

The idea to show the ad live from Spain must have taken some selling. A brave idea. A very brave client. An unbelievably brave production company. But it really did bring Honda’s latest positioning of “Difficult is worth doing” to life. Absolutely fantastic.

But I’m still never going to buy a Honda.

Which brand will win the cup next year?

May 26th, 2008 by Jon

Quote from The Observer, Sunday 25th May: City chairman Peter Ridsdale said: “It’s a fantastic day for sport in the city, whereby two leading brands will be playing top-level sport in the new stadium.”

I know football is a business but I’m not sure the fans will be buying season tickets to see their favourite brand next year - wherever they are playing.

The emperor’s new clothes?

May 23rd, 2008 by Jon

Does anyone else think that the new Dairy Milk whacky races ad set on the airport runway is b******s? You can see how it happened - the agency got lucky with gorilla (no amount of strategic thinking and planning brilliance would tell you a man dressed as a gorilla playing the drums along to a Phil Collins song would be a smash hit with viewers) and then has to follow it up. There’s nowhere to go - gorilla was a one-off, not part of a campaign, so the only clue is find a classic song we can all sing along to. There’s a lot of post-facto rationalisation going on by the agency and the client but instead of an ad dressed up as a gorilla they got one dressed as a turkey.
